Straight through the Low Countries

Arnout Hauben, who became known in the Netherlands for the Around the North Sea and Across the Mediterranean Sea, will go on another walking adventure in the spring of 2022. He then travels straight through the Low Countries, from the Belgian coast to the north of the Netherlands, a journey of 900 kilometers. As always, he is looking for the history of the different areas he passes through and the people who live there. From Ostend, GR trails take him via Antwerp to Maastricht. Once across the border, he follows the legendary Pieterpad to Pieterburen, the far north of the Netherlands. It is a journey through dunes, polders and fields – but also straight through the eventful history of the Low Countries.
