Hermannsweg-Eggeweg (Teutoburgerwald) (164) 4.A 2019

Hermannsweg and Eggeweg, which are combined under the name Hermannshöhen, are among the "Top Trails of Germany". In 2007 (Eggeweg) and 2008 (Hermannsweg) they were certified as quality trails by the German Hiking Association, i.e. these trails offer a special experience of nature and culture in a varied landscape combined with excellent hiking infrastructure.
The Hermannsweg runs from Rheine an der Ems over the mountain ridges of the Teutoburg Forest with its idyllic towns of Tecklenburg and Bad Iburg to Bielefeld and further over the impressive Hermannsdenkmal and the mystical Externsteine ​​to the 441 m high Velmerstot near Horn-Bad Meinberg. From the Externsteine, the Eggeweg leads you over the heights of the Egge Mountains and the small towns of Altenbeken, Bad Driburg and Blankenrode to Marsberg. Both roads together have a length of 333 km as "Hermannshöhen".
