Completely destroyed in 1945, the baroque city of Dresden shines again today in its former glory. The main symbol of the reconstruction is the Frauenkirche, which was inaugurated in a solemn ceremony in 2005. Since then, its famous dome, the "stone bell", has once again determined the silhouette of the city. Just a stone's throw away are the city's other famous sights: Residenzschloss with Green Vault, Zwinger, Semperoper, Albertinum or Hofkirche, to name just a few. Those who, despite all the high standards, do not want to limit themselves to Dresden, can take trips to Saxon Switzerland or take a day trip to the nearby porcelain town of Meissen and the impressive Moritzburg hunting lodge.
