In the lower Inn Valley, embedded and structured by the hilly and forest landscape behind the Reintaler lakes, lies "Klein Tirol", the open-air museum of Tyrolean farms. Here the historic farming culture in North, East and South Tyrol is documented and preserved. 37 main and outbuildings from all parts of the country and evidence of economic and social life - primary school, chapels, mill, saw, nail mag and shooting range - were dismantled from their original locations and rebuilt in the museum. With more than 60,000 visitors, the Museum Tiroler Bauernhöfe is one of the leading Tyrolean museums.
This illustrated book shows not only the incomparable atmosphere of this Tyrolean idyll, but also architectural styles, ways of doing business, crafts, traditions and ways of life in historic Tyrol.
