The great Zillertaler Wanderbuch

The Zillertal offers a huge selection of exciting tours, almost for every season and for every fitness level. The hiking area extends from the mouth of the Ziller in Strass at an altitude of 518 meters to the 3509 meter high summit of the Hochfeiler. The tours proposed in this book cover all altitudes: walks and hikes close to the valley in a rural cultural landscape, enjoyable tours in the alpine areas with their beautiful views, but also challenging traverses and summit climbs in the fascinating primeval landscape of the high mountains.
In the west lie the Tuxer Alps and in the east the Kitzbühler Alps, which offer beautiful hiking tours with their gentle shapes, clear mountain lakes, extensive alpine meadows and many two-thousand-meter-high peaks. To the south, the main ridge of the Zillertal Alps rises with valleys deeply incised by glaciers and rivers, whose trough shoulders rest on impressive cirques. Above, rugged ridges and glaciated peaks tower far above 3,000 meters. The managed huts provide a welcome base and rewarding destinations in this high alpine area.
