The Dolomites are not only an excellent area for climbers, mountaineers and hikers will also find a rich field of activity: from the valley you can walk to fairytale mountain lakes via attractive mountain trails. There is also no shortage of managed mountain huts. And in bad weather, the valley resorts with many attractions and sports and entertainment venues. Furthermore, the mild climate in the valley allows for even more relaxing walks when there is still snow on the north side of the Alps.

The current volume Dolomiten 2 contains 50 tours from the Eggentaler Mountains area with Schlern, Rosengarten and Latemar to the Trudner Horn Nature Park. Not far from Bolzano, the South Tyrolean capital, this is one of the most beautiful hiking areas in the Southern Alps. All tour suggestions were made, selected and described by Dr. Franz Hauleitner, an excellent expert on the Dolomites. They are usually light and follow well-marked trails.

Routes, colored hiking maps in the scale of 1:50,000 or 1:75,000 with recorded routes, meaningful elevation profiles and thorough directions make it easier for the hiker to plan and carry out each of the 50 tours. In the introductory section of the Rother walking guide you will find a variety of tips on places to visit and places of interest. The binding has been thoroughly renewed for the current 7th edition. Now GPS tracks are also available for download.

With a total of seven parts on the Dolomites, Rother's hiking guide covers the entire area between Brunico, Bressanone, Bolzano, Cavalese, Cortina d'Ampezzo, Sexten and Belluno.
