Binntal Veglia Devero

The Alpe Veglia and the Alpe Devero in the Valle d'Ossola (Piemonte), together with the Binntal in the Goms (Valais), are among the most intact areas of the Alpine region, far away from the major tourist flows and transit routes. Yet for thousands of years the Albrun was an important pass connection between Valais and the Po Valley. Celts, Romans and Walsers, traders, pilgrims and mercenaries crossed here from one side of the main Alpine ridge to the other. Then the pass fell into oblivion.
The regional nature parks on both sides of the border are recognized as such for their scenic beauty and natural values, but also for their well-preserved settlements, and dream of forming one cross-border Italian-Swiss nature park in the foreseeable future.
Boundless hiking pleasure in all seasons: Our routes - both hikes and snowshoe tours - lead through narrow gorges, wide plateaus, sparse larch forests and colorful alpine meadows, to breathtaking panoramic mountain peaks and idyllic mountain lakes, and last but not least to villages, hamlets and alpine settlements with many charm. Hospitality and good cuisine are very important in the border region!
