Topo maps are folded maps of Finland, printed on waterproof and tear-resistant material. The cards can withstand heavy use and folding, and will not wear out even under harsh conditions. Five new double-sided card sheets will be published in 2021, replacing the previous single-sided cards. The new maps cover more than twice the area of ​​the old ones.
The layout of the maps has been adapted to the needs of hikers, making the topo map the best choice for areas of Lapland popular with hikers, fishermen and hunters, where outdoor maps have not yet been published and where several traditional maps had to be purchased to navigate.
The underlying data is the cadastral database of the National Land Registry of Finland and the information content corresponds to the traditional paper base and terrain maps. In addition, desert areas and reserves are marked on the maps with symbols, and the map data also extends to Norway and Sweden.
