From Blankenstein in Thuringia, the terminus of the famous Rennsteig, the approximately 290 km long Kammweg runs along the Green Belt via the Vogtland to the Ore Mountains and to Altenberg-Geising near the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. You walk long distances far away from noise and hectic through idyllic nature parks; picturesque towns such as Schöneck or Seiffen invite you to linger. The walking guide describes the route in 17 stages, which rarely have a height difference of more than 500 meters and can partly be done by bicycle. Maps, elevation profiles and GPS tracks help with orientation, and the book also provides tips on where to stay and information about sights and interesting events along the way.
