The RheinTerrassenWeg runs in 5-day stages from Worms to Mainz along the broken edge of the limestone plateau from Rheinhessen to the Rhine and is adorned by charming historic wine towns such as Oppenheim and Nierstein. There are both deep views of the river and distant views of the Odenwald, Taunus, Rheinhessen and the Frankfurt skyline.
Circular routes lead through the vineyards inland from Rheinhessen to Rheinhessen Switzerland and to the lower reaches of the Nahe at the foot of the Soonwald in a varied landscape of hills, vines, hedges, forests, stream and river valleys. The scenic experience culminates around the spa towns of Bad Kreuznach and Bad Münster am Stein-Ebernburg, where the rivers Nahe and Glan have cut through the porphyry mountains and sculpted impressive red rock towers and walls.
